About the Sampler

The leading hub for the UK new music scene

The Sampler brings together the extraordinary new music activity happening across the UK. From DIY nights for emerging composers, to workshops, sound installations and experimental club nights.

The scene has never been so dynamic as it is today, with independent collectives setting new agendas about what kinds of sounds are possible, in what settings, and with which technologies.

The Sampler’s purpose is simple: to support this changing ecosystem and help people discover it. If you’ve got a project involving experimental music in the UK, The Sampler is here to celebrate and promote it.

Alongside events listings, we also feature interviews and features about composers, collectives and scenes across the country, as well as recommendations from artists and creators – we celebrate new music in all of its forms.

The Sampler is driven by those who use it and hosted by a team of experts from Sound and Music – the national charity for new music.
