Alice Boyd is a London and Bristol-based composer and sound artist working across music, sound art, podcast, radio, film and theatre. She uses the voice, electronic textures and field recordings to tell stories about the world around us. Much of her work explores our relationship with the natural world. In 2020, Alice was selected for Sound and Music’s New Voices programme and was granted their Dimensions Award. As part of this, Alice carried out an artist residency and performance at the Eden Project - the world’s largest indoor rainforest. In 2022, she received PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music grant to produce her debut EP, From The Understory, inspired by the plants in the Rainforest Biome. Alice’s collaborators, commissioners and partners include: Eden Project, Wellcome Collection, Donmar Warehouse, Historic England, UCL Geography, University of Bristol, Norfolk Ponds Project, The Guardian and Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
