The Cross-Eyed Pianist is the pen name of Frances Wilson - a British writer on classical music with a special interest in the piano, its literature and those who play it. Described by concert pianist Peter Donohoe as "an important voice in the piano world", Frances has been blogging as The Cross-Eyed Pianist since 2010. Her blog enjoys a strong reputation in the UK and beyond, and a large online following. “a valuable resource not only for the varied artists it represents but for the breadth of viewpoint and information it has amassed” - Kenneth Hesketh, composer Frances is also a regular writer for Hong Kong-based classical music site InterludeHK, has contributed articles to Pianist magazine, International Piano and The Schubertian (the journal of the Schubert Institute of the UK), and has been a content creator for classical music streaming service IDAGIO. She has written teaching notes for the ABRSM and Trinity College London, and has acted as a syllabus consultant for the London College of Music. Frances has also appeared on BBC Radio Three’s Music Matters with Tom Service to discuss the role of music criticism today and the effect of the internet on music journalism and writing. She also works as a publicist for a small portfolio of clients within the music industry.
