I’m Vicky Clarke a sound artist & electronic musician from Manchester, England. I work with sound sculpture, field recordings & DIY electronics to create performances, installations & self-built instruments. For my latest project 'MATERIALITY: Exploring Sound Sculpture to interface the physical & digital in music making' (ACE funded)' I investigated the sonic and conductive properties of glass & metal to create new resonant sculptures and interfaces for a new physical/digital performance system for Ableton Live. As part of this I worked at the Graphene Institute creating a SUPERMATERIAL interface for electronic music perfomance and a huge materials sample library to create musique concrete drum kits from my work at National Glass Centre & London Sculpture workshop. Recent live shows at Access Space & Music Tech Fest Stockholm showcased the metal sound sculptures, live electronics, gestural interfaces of MATERIALITY. I am co-founder of Noise Orchestra, we develop electronic Noise Machines that translate light into sound, our SWARM City sound walks encourage citizens to play the light of cities, most recently for Rome Media Art Festival and Manchester Science Festival.
