A Summer’s Afternoon
Jillian Bain Christie and Catherine Herriott have been performing together for many years all over the UK. Last year Jillian and Catherine released a critically acclaimed recording of Robert Burns’ songs, Ae spark o’ Nature’s fire.
They make their JAM on the Marsh debut with a wonderful concert, created for a beautiful summer’s afternoon – it never rains in July on the Marsh! Their eclectic programme is stunning; from Rachmaninoff to Paul Mealor, via Debussy, Vaughan Williams, Canteloube and Rodrigo. To celebrate the 90th birthday of Thea Musgrave, one of the UK’s finest living composers, they will perform he magical song cycle A Suite O’ Bairnsongs.
This final concert of the 2018 festival promises to be an absolute highlight; can there be a more lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon than this?
