Afterlives (with screening of Solo Soprano)

Includes screening of Solo Soprano – a portrait of saxophonist Lol Coxhill.

Queen Mary University, London has recently acquired the Ian Hinchliffe archive. To mark this moment Afterlives is an evening considering questions of archives and legacies through the art and lives of four extraordinary and influential artists who have died in recent years – Ian Hinchliffe, Rose Finn-Kelcey, Lol Coxhill and Roger Ely.
The evening will feature performances, screenings, and talks by the artists, scholars and curators Anne Bean, Dave Stephens, Eleanor Roberts, Helen Petts, Nikki Milican and Dominic Johnson.
Screenings include Helen Petts’ Solo Soprano – a Portrait of Lol Coxhill, Matt Page’sHINCH -a film about Ian Hinchliffe, and Elisabeth Wilding’s film of one of Roger Ely’s final performances Endings are Beginnings are Endings
Afterlives has been developed and produced in a collaboration between Queen Mary University, London, Live Art Development Agency and Dave Stephens.
