Aidan Baker, Bleaklow & Heavy Lifting at 16th century Bishop’s House, Sheffield
Utility Tapes presents a rare opportunity to hear internationally recognised drone and ambient artists in the intimate 16th C Bishops' House
Aidan Baker
Aidan Baker is a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist focusing on the electric guitar as his primary instrument. Using prepared and alternate methods of playing the guitar, along with various electronic effects, Baker creates music which generally falls within the ambient/experimental genre but draws on influences from post-rock, shoegaze, electronica, neo-classical, and jazz.
Heavy LiftingHeavy Lifting is Lucy writing live code for a different dimension. In this performance she will be using a set of inconsequential field recordings and a Kawai Phm 'pop synth' rompler to reminisce about Culture landscapes.
Bleaklow
Bleaklow is made of Claire Knox and Richard Knox (A-Sun Amissa / Shield Patterns etc). The duo create distorted and billowing songs from fractured melodies and crumbling ambient drones.
