Andrew Hamilton: Music for People

An evening dedicated to the joyous, ingenious and obsessive music of Irish composer Andrew Hamilton, to coincide with the release of his first portrait album being released on NMC Recordings and performed by three acclaimed interpreters of his work.

Soprano Juliet Fraser and percussionist Maxime Echardour perform the song cycle To The People, which uses text from Baudrillard’s America and pianist Eliza McCarthy performs the epic Robert Walser-inspired piano work O.A.I.R. The composer himself will perform his voice and violin piece a which delves, among other things, into “the horrors of learning solfège”.
