Annual Jacqueline du Pre Charity Concert
Virtuoso violinist Daniel Hope joins the award-winning Sacconi Quartet and international pianist Freddy Kempf on stage to raise funds for Britain’s oldest music charity, the Royal Society of Musicians. The Society was established in 1738 by George Frederick Handel amongst others, and will hold its 23rd annual Jacqueline du Pre charity concert on 6th March 2018 at London’s Wigmore Hall.
The programme will see all six musicians perform Ernest Chausson’s Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Quartet. Following that, the World Premiere of the ‘March for the Royal Society of Musicians’ commissioned especially for the occasion from award-winning composer Anne Dudley. The concert will finish with Dvorak’s sublime Piano Quintet No.2.
