GB & SR Percussion Duo

Piano and percussion duo George Barton and Siwan Rhys give a concert of premieres and unpublished works, including a newly-commissioned 40-minute piece by Oliver Christophe Leith.
Leith said: Siwan and George are brilliant musicians that get my music – they are rare gems. This is a substantial work for the piano/percussion canon – it is truly their piece. good day good day bad day bad day is a piece about the simultaneously debilitating and beautiful irrationalities of our everyday lives. Using bells, whistles, samplers and wine bottles (and more), they make music from the everyday mundanity of an obsessive routine and guide us through the spectrum of emotions that coincide with that.
Leith’s huge work is placed alongside a substantial and rarely-heard unpublished Morton Feldman piece from 1963, and a European premiere from Eric Wubbels, a well-respected young American composer with an increasing reputation in the UK and Europe.
