JAM:Music of our Time

JAM returns to London with 7 captivating premieres.

On Wednesday 23rd March, JAM opens its 2022 season with an array of premieres at St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street. JAM is delighted to return to London with its first event welcoming the general public since March 2019.

Displaying the variety and vibrancy of composition across the UK, this event includes successful submissions to JAM’s 2019 Call for Music by Christopher Best (chrisbestmusic.com), William Harmer,(soundcloud.com/willharmer) Philip Lancaster (www.philiplancaster.com), Richard Peat (www.richardpeat.com) and Kathryn Rose (www.artsyhonker.net); at last catching up on the Covid years. This concert also programmes the eagerly awaited brass quintet world premiere by Janet Wheeler(janetwheeler.co.uk), winner of JAM’s first Masterclass series. In the second half of the concert full forces of choir, brass and organ, with outstanding tenor soloist Mark Le Brocq give the London premiere of JAM’s 2021 mesmerizing commission by Jack Oades (www.jackoades.com), Between the Stormclouds and the Sea, with libretto by acclaimed poet Grahame Davies.

“The music ebbs and flows like the surf upon the shingle, like the wind amongst the wheat.” Jack Oades of Between the Stormclouds and the Sea.

With Covid-safe seating, this will be a dazzling evening of music and performance, not to be missed.
