Journey Time: Life’s River

Journey Time: life’s river – words & music by David Braid

What is your journey? Are you still on it?

Come and discover your own journey along life’s river via the Land of Distractions, Land of Glass Sculptures, Land of Time Travel and the facing & beating of your Own Special Hells…

Where will you end up? What will you become? Yourself perhaps?

A major proportion of journeys have always been, and still are, made by river – this piece (for soprano, ensemble and sound design) was written specifically for performance at Brunel’s Tunnel Shaft and takes you on a journey of self-discovery and re-birth/growth.

The Tunnel Shaft was built to access the first tunnel ever built under the Thames – the symbolism of one of the world’s great rivers flowing just yards away from the performance, together with the venue’s vast acoustic and Victorian Gothic ambiance make for an unforgettable experience.

Soprano: Susanna MacRae

Viola: Wanshu Qiu

Mandolin/direction: David Braid

Guitar: David Black

Sound design: Stefan Inglis

Thursday, 23 June 2022, 7.30pm – Brunel Museum Tunnel Shaft, Railway Ave, London, SE16 4LF, Canada Water Tube/Overground.
