Lo-fi Improvised Music Workshops

Lo-fi

Longfield Hall Improvisation Project 2023

Lo-fi is an improvised music workshop which is open to anyone interested in exploring sound and making music in a group context. Musicians of any standard are welcome along with those with no formal musical training or experience. The sessions are run by Stuart Wilding and Pete Robson and draw on sonic exercises from the late John Stevens book Search and Reflect and the work of Pauline Oliveros. Both focus on the importance of listening, group equality and dynamic sensitivities.

“As a classroom community, our capacity to generate excitement is deeply affected by our interest in one another, in hearing one another’s voices, in recognizing one another’s presence.” (bell hooks)

The workshops will take place at:

LONGFIELD HALL

50 Knatchbull Road
