London Mozart Players with Michael Collins
For this year’s JAM on the Marsh Festival Commission, one of the UK’s finest musicians and one of the UK’s finest composers come together: Judith Bingham’s Concerto for Clarinet. Michael Collins (clarinet) is the soloist and directs this concert with the London Mozart Players, which pairs Bingham’s world premiere with Aaron Copland’s irresistible Clarinet Concerto, alongside Grieg’s Holberg Suite. Both soloist and composer have ‘significant birthdays’ this year, so this is a wonderful way to celebrate such significant artists of our time.
Programme:
– Danse sacrée et danse profane L 103 – Claude Debussy
– Concerto for clarinet and orchestra – Judith Bingham (world premiere)
– Holberg Suite (From Holberg’s Time) Op 40 – Edvard Grieg
– Concerto for clarinet, strings and harp – Aaron Copland
