Making Tracks 2021 – Applications Open!

Making Tracks is an environmentally-focused international music exchange programme, based around an annual UK residency and tour. We bring together exceptional artists to showcase diverse music, initiate new collaborations and explore strategies for music-based environmental engagement.

Since 2010, Making Tracks has brought world-class, diverse music from all corners of the globe to leading venues throughout the UK. Our new model, launched in 2019, selects exceptional young music professionals from the UK and around the world – ‘Making Tracks Fellows’ – and brings them together for a two-week residency and a two-week tour. As well as providing a platform for talented artists to showcase their music, create new collaborative works and build their careers, we also inspire Fellows to explore strategies for environmental engagement.

This year, Making Tracks will select eight Fellows to take part in a UK residency and tour, held over one month from mid October – mid November. Due to uncertainties around COVID-19, this year we will only consider applicants based in the UK or other European countries. We are sorry if this effects you.

We invite musicians to apply whose work has direct or implicit connections to cultural traditions and heritage, as well as environmentally-engaged artists working with soundscape field recordings or sound art.
