Meetup – TidalCycles with Calum Gunn

TidalCycles (or Tidal for short) is a programming language for live coding pattern.
It allows you to make musical patterns with text, describing sequences and ways of transforming and combining them, exploring complex interactions between simple parts.
The first London Tidal meetup features short talks from Jack Armitage, PhD Student in Media & Arts Technologies and musician better known as Lil Data, and Guy John, creator of LiveCodeLab, who will be giving us a brief introduction to Haskell, the underlying language of Tidal.
The meetup is organised by Calum Gunn and the Music Hackspace.
After this meetup, the Music Hackspace will be hosting a series of monthly Wednesday-evening software workshops focusing on how to make music with computers. The workshops will be led by invited artists including Shelly Knotts, Alex McLean and Alo Allik amongst others.
Drinks will be available from the bar next to the entrance to the New Wing of Somerset House.
