Music Theatre Wales presents Y Twr by Guto Puw

Leading Welsh composer Guto Puw’s first full-length opera, Y Twr (The Tower) is a rare opportunity to hear opera in the Welsh language. Presented by innovative contemporary opera company Music Theatre Wales, in collaboration with Theatr Genedlaethol, the national Welsh language theatre of Wales, the opera will be presented in Welsh with English surtitles. Y Twr is an adaptation, by writer and poet Gwyneth Glyn, of the classic play Gwylan Parry.  Y Twr explores the emotion experienced by a man and a woman over the course of a lifetime together. The opera is directed by Michael McCarthy, with Richard Baker conducting the Music Theatre Wales Ensemble.  The opera features leading Welsh singers Gwion Thomas and Caryl Hughes.
