Open Circuit: Audio-Vision

University of Liverpool composer Oli Carman and Manchester-based composer and AV artist Mark Pilkington continue their series of successful collaborations with a new work that makes use of hand drawn sketches combined with electronic gestures and patterns derived from human vocal sounds. These organic and digital sources are subject to a crazy metamorphosis using the software Processing.

Estuaries 3 by Brett Battey was awarded First Prize at MADATAC X in Madrid, Spain in 2019. This immersive sound world with its gamelan-like resonances was created with the composer’s Nodewebba software which interlinks pattern generators to create complex emergent behaviours.

Run, a new audiovisual composition/documentary by David Berezan (Manchester/Canada) uses footage shot using a go pro camera whilst cross country marathon running.

The programme also includes work by David Arango Valencia (Montreal) and University of Liverpool undergraduate Tom Moreton (UK).
