Remnants by ERRATICA
A story of tragic love, set against the backdrop of two wars in Bosnia fifty years apart.
After the success of 2014’s collaboration with Gavin Turk, Triptych (“Cogent, haunting and, at the end, desperately poignant”—Richard Morrison, The Times), ERRATICA return to the Print Room.
Performed by solo dancer and four singers Remnants juxtaposes Balkan folk and Klapa (traditional a cappella singing from Croatia) with original vocal arrangements by award winning composer Christian Mason and deep bass soundscapes by DJ & installation artist Shelley Parker to weave a rich acoustic tapestry.
Based on Courtney Angela Brkic’s heartbreaking memoir The Stone Fields: Love and Death in the Balkans, Remnants delves through layers of sound, song and spoken testimony, to unearth family secrets and doomed romance.
Driven by eclectic musical scores, ERRATICA’s varied productions explore the theatrical and narrative potential of the human voice: sung, spoken, live, recorded, distorted or disembodied.
