RESONANCE – Live soundscapes, tape-loops and improvised composition
A found sound, tape-loop improvised performance in response to the surroundings at Rooted Community Gardens
About this event
In association with SOUND AND MUSIC and BACK TO OURS
RESONANCE – a performance by Hull based composer and sound artist Stewart Baxter with guests Stephanie Halsey (harp) and Mark Slater (piano).
Bringing together found sounds gathered by Stewart and garden volunteers from around Hull and within Rooted Community Gardens , this performance will celebrate those sounds using various tape loops and manipulation to bring them to life within the space.
Over a number on months Stewart has been recording and collecting sounds from around Hull using contact mics, underwater hydrphones and his phone, using this as a medatation and act of self-care as well as a chance to reconnect with his surrundings.
These sounds will now be used as the root to inspire music composition and improvistion with fellow musicians Stephanie Halsey (harp) and Mark Slater (piano).
This event is free to attend but we welcome any donations towards the Rooted project.
