RHYTHM STUDIES: DESIRE LINES – GRAPHIC SCORE WORKSHOP
Rhythm Studies is a series of sound and listening walks and activities that explore cosmic rhythms, cycles and spectra through vibrational signifiers, encouraging individual and communal sensings of, and attunements with, manifold worlds.
From pollen drifts and veteran tree growth to the formation of vapour trails and desire lines, this visual score workshop will be informed by cadence and flow in the setting of Bruce Castle Park in North London.
Attendees will go home with techniques to listen to their surroundings, and articulate their sensory environment through colour, texture/mark making and line drawing.
No previous experience or drawing or visual score making is required to attend. No additional materials or equipment are required beyond clothing relevant to the weather/environment, and a sturdy pair of shoes. You may however wish to bring a favourite pen/cil or notebook. NB, Facilities are available in the park; cafes are available nearby.
Attendees will be emailed before the event with details and an exact location for meeting up.
This walk/workshop is part of a collaboration between #EnCOUnTERs (SoundFjord) and #Musicandotherlivingcreatures (Café OTO Projects) taking place from March to October 2023.
The project has been made possible with support from the Arts Council England, and the sound art community.
