SONA presents Unpeeled: Ryoko Akama
Unpeeled is a series of events showcasing women in music technology. Ryoko Akama will present a performance and artist talk alongside an interactive sound installation by SONA.
Unpeeled: https://sonawomen.co.uk/2018/09/06/sona-unpeeled/
Ryoko is a sound artist/composer/performer who approaches listening situations that magnify silence, time and space. Her work aims to offer quiet temporal/spatial experiences, and is connected to literature, fine art and mixed media (technology). She employs small and fragile objects such as paper balloons and glass bottles in order to create tiny aural and visual occurrences that embody ‘almost nothing’ aesthetics.
The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and seats will be available for those that want them. If you have any other accessibility requirements or general questions please contact us at sonawomen@gmail.com. Free tickets are available for personal assistants.
