SONA presents Unpeeled: Vicky Clarke

Vicky Clarke is a sound artist and electronic musician from Manchester working with sound sculpture, field recordings and DIY electronics to create performances, installations and self-built instruments. Influenced by brutalism, futurism and musique concrete, her work explores the form and function of materials, uncovering the patterns & properties as sound sources, systems and interfaces. For her recent project MATERIALITY Vicky collaborated with researchers at the National Graphene Institute creating a gestural interface for Ableton Live, she has undertaken residencies at STEIM, National Science and Media Museum and most recently with project Noise Orchestra was awarded the ENLIGHT residency: European Light Expression Network developing ‘SWARM: Play the Light of the City’ developing portable noise machine synthesizers that translate light into sound which premiered at Rome Media Art Festival.
