Sound and Silence, music improvisation workshop – Nick Sorensen
This workshop is designed to explore the relationship between sound and silence and to encourage collaborative music making. Starting with simple clapping exercises participants will learn how to develop a sense of rhythm. This will lead to creating soundscapes using a range of different sound sources.
Bring your own musical instrument (or object that makes a sound) if you can. A range of shakers, percussion instruments and whistles will be available.
No previous musical knowledge or training is required.
Part of LISTEN, a summer of sound art hosted by Black Swan Arts and curated by composer Helen Ottaway. Funded by Arts Council England.
