From the Soundhouse: Black Angels
From shouting to whispering, from gongs to maracas and even crystal glasses, American composer George Crumb’s Black Angels offers up a feast of sounds. Recently revealed to have been one of David Bowie’s all-time favourite records, this seminal work of the 21st century is paired alongside the world premiere of South Korean composer Sungji Hong’s concerto for alto flute written for and performed by RCM alumna Carla Rees.
