Sounds from the Garden
Sounds from the Garden: two days of events exploring sound and our impact on the environment.
What is a soundwalk? Come and join us on Saturday morning and find out!
There will also be recording and editing workshops and a live performance you can take part in. And there will be performances on the Bandstand throughout the day from Goldsmiths’ Alchemy Project featuring the next generation of talented local music artists from Addey & Stanhope and Deptford Green Secondary Schools.
On Sunday, sound-art performances will explore environmental change.
There will be sound installations on Saturday and Sunday in the Wedding Garden, Dye Garden and Natural History Gallery.
Being Human: the UK’s only national festival dedicated to demonstrating the breadth, diversity and vitality of the humanities.
This year’s theme is Discoveries & Secrets. At heart, the festival is all about making research in the humanities – from art history to philosophy, history to classics, and literature to languages – accessible and fun for as many people as possible.
The festival will be held for 10 days from 14-23 November with activities held in towns and cities across the UK. It is led by the University of London’s School of Advanced Study (SAS) in partnership with the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC), and the British Academy (BA).
