Celebrating Judith Weir and friends (SNCMF)

The Stoke Newington Contemporary Music Festival celebrates the vibrant and inventive music of Judith Weir in this Sunday afternoon concert with Sarah Leonard (soprano) and Stephen Gutman (piano).

A pianistic tour-de-force and a set of three colourful Spanish songs are followed by the virtuoso, King Harald’s Saga, in which Sarah Leonard takes on all eight roles in this ‘grand opera in three acts for solo soprano’. Cycles of songs by Joe Cutler and Jonathan Dove complete the programme.

Jonathan Dove: My Love is Mine
Judith Weir: A Spanish Liederbooklet
Judith Weir: The Art of Touching the Keyboard
Joe Cutler: In Praise of Dreams
Judith Weir: King Harald’s Saga
Jonathan Dove: Five Am’rous Sighs

Part of the Stoke Newington Contemporary Music Festival, 7-8 and 14-15 May 2022.
