Highly regarded for ‘the vigour and freshness of his interpretation’ (Bachtrack), Thomas Zehetmair enjoys widespread international acclaim as a conductor and violinist, and this exciting programme offers the chance to see him in both roles.
He leads Mendelssohn’s dazzling Octet from the violin before taking to the podium to conduct Beethoven’s famous Symphony no 7 – a work packed full of majestic moments. The evening also features music by Prince Consort Professor of Composition Colin Matthews, in celebration of his 70th birthday year.
