Aurora Orchestra & Poet in the City: Memento
The coming together of two innovative programmers, the Aurora Orchestra and Poet in the City, this interdisciplinary event promises to explore new technology through poetry and music. Composer Martin Suckling’s delicate, thoughtful music is paired with Francis Leviston’s award winning poetry, drawing inspiration from both Franz Schubert and Emily Dickinson.

The Riot Ensemble: Carter Double Concerto
Elliot Carter’s Double Concerto is undoubtedly a raucous, complex and demanding masterwork. Performed in this concert by Adam Swayne and Goska Isphoring, Carter’s concerto will be presented alongside new music by American composers, Molly Joyce and Pierce Gradone.

Borough New Music Series 4: Islands
Flautist Carla Rees (potentially the hardest working and most wonderful woman in music) is joined by clarinetist Ian Mitchell for this lunch-time concert. Champions of new music, Carla and Ian will present no fewer than three world-premieres including Tom Ingoldsby’s ‘The Cathedral’ (with pianist, Clare Simmonds).

This three-day festival of improvised music will doubtless have something for all new-music lovers with performances from multi-media ensemble, Paradise Yard, Chris Cutler, and students from Goldsmiths College.
