Dutta says ‘one of my ambitions with Bloume was to extend the natural timbre of the piano and give the electronic processing its own life in the live situation. I worked closely with sound designer Manuel Poletti at IRCAM to create a dynamic and organic system. However, recording immediately fixes the musical state so to counter this I am seeking inventive remixes to expand the listening possibilities in the virtual space’.
Six years since the release of the highly acclaimed Parergon (Just Music, 2012), Will Dutta’s new studio album sees him reunite with electronic legends Plaid (Warp Records), Friendly Fires frontman Ed Macfarlane, composer Max de Wardener (Accidental Records) and sound designer Manuel Poletti.
