Brighter Sound are delighted to announce Three Cities, a new international commission in partnership with Le FIL (Saint-Étienne) and Music Pool (Berlin).
We’re looking for an emerging musician, composer or sound artist of any genre, from or based in the North West, to represent Brighter Sound and the city of Manchester.
This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with musicians representing two other international cities and creative organisations – Le FIL in Saint-Étienne, and Music Pool in Berlin. Together you will spend two days at Brighter Sound in February creating new music, two days recording at Le FIL, and three days at music industry events and performing at Music Pool in March.

Music Pool, Berlin:
Mon 12 – Fri 16 Mar (live premiere in Berlin on Thurs 15 Mar)
As well as the opportunity to access European networks, have your work professionally recorded and perform live to a new audience in Berlin, the successful applicant will also receive a £1000 fee and travel/accommodation expenses.

Applicants must be:
Aged over 18
An emerging musician demonstrating at least three years of semi-professional music making
From or based in the North West
We are looking for a music creator/composer/sound artist with ambition, drive, excellent communication skills and an openness to working with others. You should be able to demonstrate how this international opportunity and platform will benefit you as an artist.
Applicants must apply online*, answering three questions related to their own experience, their initial ideas on the theme of an international collaboration between three cities, and their reasons for applying, as well as submitting two examples of their own music.
